Grade 9 - Health Syllabus
I. COURSE OBJECTIVE: a. To provide a basic understanding and appreciation for the process of human reproductive development by introducing a systematic approach to developmental anatomy and physiology in both the male and female. We will introduce vocabulary, as well as illustrations of anatomy and physiology.

III. COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course is divided into TWO UNITS. A course outline of both units with required subject reference is provided. Each unit will REQUIRE THE TAKING of notes and the turning in of notes at the end of the unit. Each unit will have a REQUIRED UNIT quiz. At the conclusion of each unit a REQUIRED UNIT examination will be give. At least two class participation assignments will be given which may be used for extra credit. Required unit notes, required quizzes, required examinations, and class participation projects are considered ASSIGNMENTS.
IV. GRADING Each unit examination is worth 30 points. Each unit quiz is worth 10 points. And each set of unit notes that are turned in are worth 10 points. The course grade, therefore, is based on a total of 100 points. There is no comprehensive final examination. The last unit exam is scheduled just before or during the final exam week. Final grade is based upon: 90% and above (90-100 points)= A (4), 80%-89% (80-89 points)= B (3), 73%-79% (73-79 points)= C (2), 65%-72% (65-72 points)= D (1), 64% and below (0-64 points)= F. An incomplete grade (I) is only given when ALL REQUIRED UNIT NOTES, QUIZZES and EXAMINATIONS are completed with passing grade and ONLY ONE REQUIRED ASSIGNMENT (NOTES, QUIZ and EXAMINATION) IS OUTSTANDING. An incomplete grade (I) will not be given for outstanding in class participation assignments.
